Meal Plan
Plan Options
In order to meet your campus dining needs, we have designed the following meal plans for the 2024-2025 academic year. Meal Plan costs will be updated on the Maine Maritime Academy Tuition and Fees page.
Meal Plans (21, 17, 12 or 5) must be selected and purchased (or changed) by the first Friday of each semester through the MMA Department of Student Life. Current and incoming students can complete a change via the MMA Student Life Portal, and clicking "MEAL PLANS".
BLOCK plans are available for commuter students. Click on the "Voluntary Block Plan" tab below to learn more. Block Plans can be purchased through the MMA Student Life Portal anytime throughout the semester by visiting the site and clicking "MEAL PLANS".
Questions about Student Life Portal, Meal Plan Purchasing Issues or Policies should be directed to Student Services by either e-mail or phone to Deidra Davis at deidra.davis@mma.edu or (207) 326-2137.
If you have any questions about meal plans, balances and/or the Mariner Money program, simply contacting Carly VanCamp at carly.vancamp@sodexo.com or (207) 326-2657.
Resident Meal Plans
Resident students must select either the 21, 17 or 12 meal plan when they sign up for the room and board contract. These plans each contain "meals per week" in the Main Dining Room (MDR) located on the upper level of the Alfond Student Center. Students present their MMA ID card to the cashier upon entry, with each swipe deducting one meal. Meals reset each week. If your plan comes with Flex dollars, the funds are also loaded onto your ID card and debited as they are used in either the Main Dining Room or The Waypoint. Flex dollars can only be used on food and beverage purchases.
Within the first week each semester, all students living on campus are given the opportunity to change to a different meal plan based on their needs. Resident students returning to campus are generally returned to the meal plan they had within the last semester they were on campus. Flex dollars on plans as noted are per semester. Unused flex will roll over from fall to spring, but will expire at the end of spring semester. If you run low on Flex Dollars, you can always add Mariner Money to your account to continue to save tax and dine conveniently on campus.
Guests may also utilize their Flex via the mobile dining app "Everyday" to pre-order their meals through the Waypoint for pick up.
All changes to meal plans must be approved by the Office of Residential Life. Unused meals at the end of the week are forfeited and cannot be transferred to other students or guests; nor can they be credited for future use. Meal plan weeks run Sunday through Saturday. Unused flex will be forfeited at the end of the spring semester and cannot be transferred to other students or guests, nor can they be credited for future use.
21 Meal Plan 21 meals per week
17 Meal Plan and $75 Flex 17 meals per week and $75 in Flex to use on campus at The Main Dining Room or The Waypoint
12 Meal Plan and $300 Flex 12 meals per week and $300 in Flex to use on campus at The Main Dining Room or The Waypoint
Voluntary Traditional Meal Plans
Students residing off campus are welcome to enroll in the 21, 17 or 12 meal plans, and also have available to them a special 5 Meal Plan + $300 Flex. This plan allows them to eat 5 meals per week (Sunday-Saturday) in the MDR, as well as $300 dollars in flex dollars per semester that they can use in the Main Dining Room or The Waypoint. For all meals and Flex dollars, students are required to present their MMA ID card at time of usage.

Voluntary Block Plans
These block plans are available for students residing off campus only.
Block plans work differently than traditional meal plans in that the student purchases a "block" of meals and flex, rather than "meals per week" as in the traditional plans. These block plans are designed for those who are on campus less frequently, but still want the value and convenience of dining on campus and/or ordering for pickup in the Waypoint utilizing Flex Dollars on the mobile ordering app, "Everyday". In addition, you may purchase block plans anytime throughout the semester as well as purchase additional "reload" blocks throughout the semester as you need them through the Student Life Portal.
For all Meals and Flex, students are required to present their MMA ID card for access.
Block Meals and Flex Dollars associated with these plans roll over from semester to semester.
